It would be great if Visual Studio had this functionality out of the box.

I couldn't agree more. Specifically, when you create any ASP.NET MVC application, you should automatically get default Views and Controllers for free. This was the original intent of MVC back in the late 1970s, but never implemented until now.

BTW I have suggested it to them. See if you can drum up some more support for the idea ...
