UPDATE: http://studiostyles.info/ for a great growing community of Visual Studio Styles and Themes. You can create, import and export themes in your browser!

Here's my freshly exported and slightly tweaked Visual Studio 2005 color settings per popular demand. I'm mixing Consolas and Inconsolata fonts. More font discussion and comparison shots on DamienG's site. Be sure to click the image, as he's highlighted what he thinks are the problems with rendering in each of the font samples. He also posts his tweaked InconsolataDG with a slashed zero while he waits for Raph Levien's revised version.

Are you running out of things to write about?

Could you post a screen shot of how it looks?

Scott,
How about a screen shot? Thanks. :)

I'm curious how you would apply this to your vs2005 to look at it? Additionally how do you export your custom settings
so they can be preserved? I'm somewhat new to VS2005. I know in VS2003 you could do it through the registry.

Thanks!

Thanks for that Scott.
I requested this after looking at the previous post http://www.hanselman.com/blog/CommentView.aspx?guid=8781D481-DD8E-4501-A86D-069686E025E7

There are screen shots here. To import it over your own settings (vs2005): -
Tools -> Import Export Settings -> Choose Import Selected Environment settings
Save your settings just in case. Browse to where you extracted the zip to.

I have attempted to apply the same style to vs2003 with moderate success. I have saved the styles using VSStyler found at
http://www.gotdotnet.com/workspaces/workspace.aspx?id=722d7817-b935-4faf-9bf7-fe3e84d463af

My attempt at replicating Scott's style in vs2003 can be found at

I've been using these for the last three days. I love 'em! I've always just used the default settings. I've been really surprised out how these have improved my productivity. I run at a resolution of 1600 X 1200 on a 19in monitor and these settings make a huge difference. Thanks!

I like these settings a lot. It's much easier to see the text, no matter if you are in a room with lots of glare or not.

One thing drives me nuts: on the normal text background, I can't see the mouse move. The mouse cursor becomes a black bar | shape and disappears. I can't find a way to change the mouse cursor setting in Visual Studio options.

Scott, you must use the keyboard to navigate and cut/copy/paste text instead of the mouse.

Looks great! Thanks. I am also concerned about the black bar cursor on the dark background. Is there anyway to make the cursor white in VS?

Thanks.
