Hanselminutes Podcast 154 - ASP.NET and the Mobile Web
My one-hundred-and-fifty-fourth podcast is up. Scott's at Mix09 in Las Vegas this week and he sits down with Chris Woods, a Program Manager on the Mobile Browse Platform Team. They've just open sourced a MASSIVE database of mobile device capabilities, enabling better mobile development for ASP.NET developers. You can also check out Chris's Mix session on Mobile, or my NerdDinner ASP.NET MVC talk.

As I've said before this show comes to you with the audio expertise and stewardship of Carl Franklin. The name comes from Travis Illig, but the goal of the show is simple. Avoid wasting the listener's time. (and make the commute less boring)
Enjoy. Who knows what'll happen in the next show?

About Newsletter
Really enjoyed this podcast. I work for dotMobi. Yes we do sell .mobi, but we also do lot's of other stuff too in the hope that we can stimulate the growth of the mobile web.
We provide a number of tools to help mobile web developers (and marketers, domain owners etc).
Briefly we have:
ready.mobi - our mobile site checker
mobiForge - our developer community
DeviceAtlas - our own device database
There are numerous other free tools and downloads like our Best Practices guide and mobile marketing guidelines that are available for download on mobiForge.
We are currently working closely with Microsoft to integrate our DeviceAtlas API into ASP.NET so that users can suppliment the data from Microsoft with our data, covering around 4500 devices.
I'd encourage you and any other ASP.NET devs to sign up for our beta program: http://deviceatlas.com/aspnet
All the best,
Adrian Hope-Bailie

Am I right in saying then, that this .Browser concept ( which replaces the in-web.config section designed to aid browser detection) should also be capable of telling my app how to render correctly in Chrome... Ie fix some of my Validator issues?
