I would very much like to support Diabetes research, treatments, and possible cures. I cannot, in good conscience, support the ADA however due to their unfortunate support of embryonic stem cell research. Using humans that were created specifically for research (or cells from those embryos -- fruit of the poison tree) is morally reprehensible. Supporting evil deeds (killing humans) that even immense good may come (curing diabetes) is an untenable situation.
I have done some investigation, but have not found any other foundations or charities other than the ADA and the JDRF. Do you know of any others? I'm not asking you to do my investigation for me, I will check their research policies -- I just need some pointers to groups you may have heard of or be aware of that I could support instead of the ADA.
I really do care about diabetes as I have family members affected by it, too. And I want to help, but killing people to save others is never a good way to help, I feel.
