REDUX: Strange but True...weird allocation problem with .NET 1.1

UPDATE: Regarding that weird Memory Allocation bug I mentioned earlier. Turns out it IS a new bug in .NET 1.1 (it doesn't exist in 1.0) and it has already been QFE'd and will be rolled into a SP very soon. It's a pretty icky one...watch for it!
