This Developer's Life 1.0.7 - Audacity
In this episode Rob and I talk to 3 developers who have pulled off some pretty audacious maneuvers:
- John Resig, Creator of jQuery, decided to write yet another JavaScript framework when there were already quite a few to choose from. Not only did he succeed, he changed web development forever.
- Alex Payne, former API Developer Lead at Twitter, talks about the (somewhat insane) move to leave Twitter, and (somewhat more insane) choice to “reinvent banking” with BankSimple.
- Miguel de Icaza, founder of the GNOME project and creator of Mono talks about creating a clone of the .NET framework - all because he didn’t like what else was out there at the time for Linux.

About Newsletter
I tried to subscribe using Zune but at first I got e message that it isn't available in my region so I set my browser to en-US and I get this page saying I'm on I''m way to zune software. Which gives me two options
Have the Zune software? Click the button, below left, to proceed.and
Don’t have the Zune software? Click the button, below right, to download it now for free. But I only see the Download the Zune software button. So I had to remove the target=client part from the url and now it wants to open in Zune. But in Zune I get this error: Sorry, the requested item isn't available in your location
I'm kind of disappointed :(
When is Zune and all its goodness going to be released in The Netherlands?
Do you know where I can get hold of some the music from the Audacity show, specifically the Aaliyah and Stone Roses mashup?
I've tried youtube and other sites but no success, even the "go home productions" website, doesn't have that one.
Great show too, but nothing beats Hanselminutes!!
Cheers,
Joe
